Access Control systems are designed to control who can enter a building or restricted area without relying on traditional keys. Instead, access is managed electronically using credentials such as keypads, cards, fobs, mobile access or biometric readers.

These systems are used across commercial, industrial and residential sites to improve security, manage movement and reduce unauthorised entry.

How Access Control Works

An Access Control system typically includes:

  • A control panel that manages permissions

  • A reader (keypad, fob, card or mobile device)

  • An electronic lock or strike

When a valid credential is presented, the system checks permissions and either grants or denies entry.
