Our Story – From Apprentice Locksmith to Online Security Retailer

Garrison Locks was founded by Richard Breslin, a professional Master Locksmith and entrepreneur whose career in the security industry began at just 16 years old.

Starting as an apprentice locksmith in Essex and London, Richard developed his technical knowledge through practical experience, progressing into senior installation and security roles. Over the years, he gained extensive experience in mechanical locking systems, high-security cylinders, master key systems, commercial security and specialist locksmith applications.

Alongside his work in the locksmith industry, Richard developed an interest in technology and the emerging world of online commerce. Teaching himself web design and digital marketing, he began creating websites and online solutions for local businesses.

Combining these two areas of expertise eventually led to the development of Garrison Locks — bringing professional locksmith knowledge together with the convenience and accessibility of online security retail.
