Spare Wheel Locks and Guards

The Spare wheel guard security Lock has been developed to address and prevent the continual problem of spare wheel theft from Light Commercial Vehicles. Whilst many companies and tradesmen do not fully recognise this problem, those who have experienced it appreciate the average cost for replacing the wheel and tyre and repairing the damage caused by the theft to be around £350.00 (This does not include loss of work time whilst the vehicle is off the road).

Many vehicle fleet operators believe the only way to stop their vehicle spare wheels being stolen is to remove them and either store them back at a depot, or store them inside the vehicle. As many tradesmen do not secure the wheels in position it then becomes a hazardous free moving load and in the event of an accident can become extremely dangerous. Companies should pay particular attention to this.

Is wheel theft really an issue to van owners?

Spare wheel theft has significantly risen due to the cost of wheels and tyres. The average cost of a wheel and tyre for a van is in excess of £250.00. Not including vehicle operator down time and the costly repair to the cage and cable system.

By installing a spare wheel guard the risk of having the wheel removed is likely to fall to around 90% as these are extremely difficult to forcibly remove once installed.

Currently we offer cover over 60 makes and model of vehicle. Enabling us to secure virtually every van manufactured.
