What are Van security latch shielding plates
Van door security plates are robust metal plates that are installed around the lock and latch areas of your van’s doors. Made from strong, durable stainless steel with an internal anti drill plate, these plates are designed to reinforce the structure of the door, making it significantly harder for thieves to tamper with the locking mechanism.
In particular, many thieves resort to drilling or tearing the door as a quick and quiet way to break into vehicles. By drilling directly into the van’s door latch, they can bypass the security system entirely. A well-fitted security plate provides an extra layer of protection, making this method of attack nearly impossible.
The Need for Van security latch shielding plates
Recognising the severity of this vulnerability, we have developed a specialised range of van protection shields. These shields are custom-designed for specific makes and models, addressing the unique weaknesses of each van's design. Our van protection Latch shields act as a barrier, covering the areas where thieves typically attempt to drill or punch holes, effectively blocking their access to the door latch system or mechanism.
Anti drill Van security latch shielding plates
Our bespoke anti-drill latch shields are made from 304 stainless steel with an internal anti-drill hardened plate, offering unmatched strength and durability. Designed specifically for your van, these shields provide the best van security latch protection plate on the market, delivering maximum protection against drilling attacks and tampering.
Engineered to safeguard your vehicle’s most vulnerable areas, our shields ensure that your van’s locking system stays intact, keeping your valuable cargo safe. For top-tier security and peace of mind, trust our anti-drill latch shields to provide the highest level of defence.
Van security plates. Tough enough for trade!
WHAT VANS ARE ATTACKED
Certain van models, including Ford, Vauxhall, Toyota, Nissan, and Mercedes, are frequently targeted by thieves using door drilling or tearing techniques. These attacks are common on commercial vans (like Ford Transits or Vauxhall Vivaros) and delivery vans, as they often carry valuable tools or parcels.
We have available over 100 side and rear door anti-drill plates available. Covering virtually all makes and models of vans in the UK.
WHAT DOORS REQUIRE ANTI DRILL LATCH SHIELDS
Side doors and rear twin doors are the most common entry points targeted by thieves, making them critical areas to reinforce with anti-drill latch shields. Here's why these doors need protection:
Side doors are vulnerable because they are often used for loading and unloading, making them a frequent target. Thieves use drilling or prying methods to access the latch mechanism and quickly open the door.
Rear twin doors are typically the most direct access point to the cargo area, especially on commercial vans. Anti-drill latch shields can prevent criminals from easily drilling into the lock mechanism to bypass the factory security.
INSTALLATION AND REPAIR
For installation, you’ll need a drill, spanner, measuring tape, protective gloves, and an anti-drill latch shield kit.
Start by cleaning the area around the latch and door. Position the gasket template from the shield kit over the latch on the side or rear doors. Mark the holes for the screws, then drill and seal the holes with wax oil or anti-rust paint to protect the metal. Secure the shield by tightening the nuts, and finally, test the door to ensure it opens and closes smoothly.
