Garrison Locks stock a wide range of UPVC door handles. Each type is designed to suit specific multipoint lock mechanisms and user needs. The main types include:
Lever/Lever handles feature two inline, movable lever handles one on each side of the door. They’re the most common option for UPVC doors in homes, from classic to modern styles and colours. Compatible with euro style locks using either a key and key or key and internal thumbturn cylinder, offering both ease of use and reliable security.

An inline lever/pad handle is designed for multipoint locks with a split spindle gearbox. In this setup, each side of the handle operates independently. The lever is connected to one spindle, and the pad to the other. This allows the outside pad to engage the lock without moving the inside lever, making it ideal for added security and controlled access.

The offset lever/pad handle works with multipoint locks that have a double spindle. Unlike lever/lever handles, this setup allows each handle to move independently. The outside pad can operate the lock without affecting the inside lever, providing controlled access and added security.

A fixed pad is used with keywind locks or in setups where the external handle shouldn’t operate the spindle. It’s ideal for situations where outside access is restricted or not required.

A snib is a small switch or button on the handle that holds the latch back, keeping the door unlocked until it’s manually released.

What measurements do I need when choosing a replacement UPVC door handle?
To ensure a proper fit, you’ll need the following key measurements:
Measure in millimetres for accuracy and compare to your current handle before ordering.

When replacing a UPVC door handle, make sure the new handle matches the PZ measurement, screw centres, and has the same or larger backplate length. This ensures a proper fit and covers any marks from the old handle.
Also, check that the handle is compatible with your door’s lock type, as many handles are designed for specific mechanisms. Taking accurate measurements and confirming compatibility is essential for a smooth and secure installation.
Replacing a UPVC door handle is straightforward and requires just a few basic tools: a screwdriver, a drill, and your new handle.
Step 1 – Remove the Old Handle
Use a screwdriver to take out the screws securing the handle, usually found on both sides of the door near the handle. Once the screws are removed, gently pull the handle away from the door.
Step 2 – Verify New Handle Measurements
Check the dimensions of your new handle to make sure it matches your door and will fit correctly.
Step 3 – Drill New Holes if Needed
If the new handle’s screw holes don’t align with the old ones, use a drill to make new holes in the door, ensuring they match the new handle’s screw positions.
Step 4 – Fit the New Handle
Slide the spindle through the door’s latch mechanism, align the handle with the screw holes, and secure it using the screws.
Step 5 – Test the Handle
Open and close the door several times to confirm the handle operates smoothly and the lock functions correctly. We often recommend testing the lock with the door in the open position to ensure lock cylinder , mechanism and handles are all working correctly to prevent any lock out issues that may arise.
At Garrison Locks we offer a complete and fully suitable range of UPVC Door handles.
