Why use an ECU Security Clamp?
The ECU on Mercedes Euro 4 and 5 can be located easily by removing the inner plastic wheel arch. The ECU can be unplugged and, with a matched Pod Key and ECU the vehicle can be started and stolen. This method will bypass any C.A.N. alarm systems and will unlock all doors, allowing for easy theft of your vehicle. Our device secures the ECU with high security fixings preventing this type of attack from happening. Please choose your vehicle model carefully as the euro 4 is different from the Euro 5 system.
How do I know if I have a EURO 4, EURO 5, EURO 5b OR EURO 6
The Sprinter has two positions for the ECU but actually has three versions just to confuse us all.
The EURO 4 ECU location is in front of the passenger side of the vehicle and is laying flat down and is seasted in a plastic tray/clamp.
The EURO 5 ECU location is in front of the drivers side of the vehicle and is standing upright with the port cables on the top.
The EURO 5b ECU location is in front of the drivers side of the vehicle and is standing upright with the port cables on the top.
This is normally found on the New Mecedes Sprinter FACELIFT model late 2013 / early 2014 this is the one with the newer style front grille.
This model normally has 2 bars in the front grille. However, please check with your dealer by giving them the chassis number prior to ordering.
The EURO 6 (ADD BLUE VEHICLE) (late 2016 Onwards) ECU location is in front of the passenger side of the vehicle and is laying flat down in a plastic tray. These vehicles have ADD BLUE ADDITIVE.
